As with July, August got away from me and I wasn’t able to update the blog on a regular basis. As site visits finish up I’ll be able to post more frequently and regale you all with office adventures until the next road trip. Until then,
QR Code Funding
As I mentioned in the July update, we are no longer eligible for enrichment project funding from CHIN. So instead, we asked for funding to test the feasibility of using QR codes in museums to enhance interpretation. We have just received word that this application was successful. Since this is new territory for us, we will only be working with around 10 sites who have agreed to be our guinea pigs. The primary outcome of the project is to create a how-to guide for using QR codes in museums, so once we’ve figured it out any other interested groups can use the guide to do their own QR code project. Site Visits
I spent most of August traveling the province, visiting a total of 22 museums. As site visits wind down for the season, I want to thank everyone for their hospitality and valuable insight into how Passage should move forward in the coming months and years.

It’s been a few months since I included an AC tally in my monthly update, and since I know people have been updating their online records before the end of the season, it seems like the perfect time to check in. At last count we had 153,993 records online, and over the summer another 2,026 records were added, giving us a new grand total of 156,019.
